Metcalfe’s Law: pwnd

IEEE Spectrum is featuring an interesting article which pretty much dismisses Metcalfe’s Law as hogwash and introduces n log n as a better approximation of the value of a network.

Wow. That’s a bit of a shock. I love to invoke Metcalfe’s Law. Bummer!
You can’t really argus with the math in the article either. I’m convinced.
I wonder does it explain all that dark fiber that’s supposedly lying around from the dot com expansion…
